A Sacred Moment at Expo 2025: The Blessing of the Miracle Garden

On 14 April 2025, under the spring sky of Osaka, a sacred tradition was quietly unfolding in the heart of the France Pavilion at Expo 2025. It was more than a ceremony — it was a moment where history, hope, and harmony converged.

The Miracle Garden, created by Ninapharm Japon and supported by the Femmes du Monde Foundation, became the stage for a profound spiritual celebration: the Blessing of the Miracle Garden. At the centre stood the Millennial Olive Tree, a timeless emblem of endurance, peace, and resilience — and on this day, a living testament to shared values between cultures.

Presiding over the ritual was priestess Kozumi Linsui, one of the few female Shinto priestesses in Japan, whose presence alone brought deep meaning. With grace and reverence, she offered a traditional blessing that invoked protection, purity, and harmony — not only for the tree, but for all who would visit the garden.

Rooted in Japanese tradition, the ceremony reminded us that innovation must always be grounded in heritage — and that even the most advanced societies need moments of stillness to reflect, reconnect, and restore balance with the natural world.

Among those who joined in this meaningful moment were Mr. Jacques Maire, Commissioner General of the France Pavilion, and Machiko Ikeoka Gozen, the visionary behind this cross-cultural initiative.
